As we were nurturing the tender beginnings of our English garden, I wanted to gather a quiet bouquet of gentle hues and keep them in my sewing basket as nature's inspiration. Instead, I have imagined a wreath of posies onto my linen bordered by a sweet pin stitch and make it into an old-fashioned needle cushion to keep with me summer through spring--a reminder of days and gardens long past.
