Reproduction Scottish Sampler. First in series with religious themes. This sampler was found in the ancient town of Brechin, Scotland on the North Sea Coast. Colors are dark rose, dark lavender, pink, yellow, garnet, aqua and three greens. The original was stitched on 18 count with fine wools. The model was stitched on tea colored 28 count linen with two strands of DMC over two threads. Stitch count is 100 wide by 148 stitches tall and measures 7.25\" by 10.5\". The colors are taken from the back of the sampler. Suitable for beginners. Verse reads: I want to be like Jesus so lowly and so meek.
